The couple prepared for the the big day at their parents houses only a couple a streets apart on East Hill in Vernon. Plenty of jitters at Jill's made for great shots. Sheldon and the boys promised that my footage wouldn't include shots from the hospital as they showed me their skills on the trampoline in the back yard. The ceremony/reception was held at Sunset Ranch Golf and Country Club in Kelowna. This indeed proved to be a great venue with super friendly staff, nice amenities and great food. A huge congrats goes to Jill, Sheldon and Brooklyn.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jillsheldon3/894401977_jv2ww-L.jpg"><img style="display:block; Sounds like a couple of boring games perhaps. It was far from that. The two games I covered on Sunday were TOFC (Thompson Okanagan Football Club vs. Coastal and Vernon United U15 girls vs. Penticton. Both games saw plenty of chances and in both cases it was the home team that almost took victory. On Saturday TOFC beat Surrey 3-0 in an impressive game. A couple of shots here from the game vs. Coastal. <div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/surrey1/884766588_DftQb-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/surrey1/884766588_DftQb-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/surrey2/884766669_wHAH8-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/surrey2/884766669_wHAH8-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><div>Check the link for <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Sports/Soccer">more soccer photos from the weekend</a>.</div><div><br /></div><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-16875391514864381662010-05-27T19:50:00.000-07:002010-05-27T20:09:24.197-07:00Jenny's Grad<div><br /></div>What fun today! Jenny and the rest of the Vernon Senior Secondary graduation class lined up outside the courthouse in Vernon for the traditional group grad photo. Fifteen minutes later, the busses were ready and whisked the students back to school. It was however; long enough to feel the sense of euphoria the kids are feeling. Perhaps I should say young adults. Congrats Jenny. In the short time we had today I hope I captured the essence of the moment. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn1/881284353_Hg5N4-L.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 375px; height: 600px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn1/881284353_Hg5N4-L.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn2/881284855_QHmgW-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn2/881284855_QHmgW-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn3/881285111_6Zprv-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn3/881285111_6Zprv-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn4/881285286_4QNSj-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jenn4/881285286_4QNSj-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><div>Check out more photos from <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Portraits/jenssgrad/12337573_95ubd#881239847_ALuyS">Jenny's Grad</a>.<br /><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"></div></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-72848581293174890342010-05-25T09:39:00.000-07:002010-05-25T12:50:55.213-07:00KYSA Cup Kamloops<div><br /></div><div>A couple of trips to Kamloops over the long weekend and four soccer games later we have a bag of new memories from this great soccer tournament. We do not have a great end result to brag about this year but a couple of tied games gave us plenty of excitement. The girls can be proud as they never gave up. The second shot below shows my main soccer setup. It is a Canon 1D Mark III with an EF 300 2.8L IS. Depending on the shots I am after I shoot this lens with or without the 1.4x extender. Using the extender the focal length goes to 420mm with a max aperture of f/4. The first photo above is the 1D with 300 + 1.4x extender. On day one of the tournament I chose to travel light and shot only with the EF 135 2.0L on the 1D III and the EF 16-35 2.8L on the 5D II. </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><br /></span></span></span></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/KYSA20102/878641049_f2KQM-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/KYSA20102/878641049_f2KQM-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/1D3blog/878641267_aZS89-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/1D3blog/878641267_aZS89-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br /></a></div><div>Check the link to see all the shots from the <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Sports/Soccer/KYSA/12284394_CGCer#876292547_AvcDM">2010 KYSA Cup Tournament</a>.</div><br /><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-10433940824296614852010-05-18T10:52:00.000-07:002010-05-19T16:17:43.536-07:00This Week in Soccer<div><br /></div>It has been another great week of shooting soccer. Last Wednesday I was at Marshall and dropped in on a couple of Vernon Men's City League games. I haven't shot men's soccer in a while so it was great fun being out in the evening sun getting a feel for the action. We were doing a shoot for a poster as the gentlemen wanted to get out and play more gigs. The gentlemen, Stefan Raupach, Daniel Favell and Johan Linghor, have since done very well for themselves. Last year they the won the Valley's talent competition and it was evident to me that these young fellas had practised, practised and practised in order to put on the performance I witnessed at the Okanagan College on Saturday night. Being a guitar player myself it is humbling to see these guys whip up one great solo after another, taking turns backing each other up with a solid rhythm pattern. Another great guitar player, Neil Fraser, is the guy behind the scenes. I believe he has taught each of the gentlemen and the group. He was on the sound board Saturday tapping his feet and following every single note from the stage. After the concert the gentlemen came up to me and thanked me for showing up. They offered me a copy of their CD, which I really appreciate. This is the kind stuff which makes being a photographer all worth while. Thanks for a great experience.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg1/870084711_LtNJQ-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg1/870084711_LtNJQ-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg4/870084933_nBXtR-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg4/870084933_nBXtR-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg3/870084913_tVkeN-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg3/870084913_tVkeN-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-decoration: underline;"><br /></span></span></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg2/870084795_6k6m4-M.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/jtcg2/870084795_6k6m4-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><div>Link to all the photos from <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Music/James-and-the-Country">James and the Country Gentlemen at Okanagan College</a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); "><br /><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"></div></span></div></span></span></div></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-70188735140857183982010-05-15T17:31:00.001-07:002010-05-19T16:18:29.629-07:00Jill & Sheldon's Wedding<div><br /></div>It is finally summer here in Vernon and it was a great day to meet up with Jill and Sheldon to discuss the final plans for their June 5th wedding, which will take place at the Sunshine Ranch in Kelowna. So long that I forgotten how beautiful and tranquil an experience it can be. Although this trail is public and only 3.5 km each way, I still got the feeling that I was the only person there in the middle of the vast and beautiful landscape. I can easily imagine what it would have been like for the first settlers to have made this trek down to the lake. I was warned by a few other hikers to watch out for rattle snakes. They had just seen one. Luckily I was spared this experience. I also met a nice gentleman who in awe at the look of my camara gear said; "That's the kind of camera i needed last summer". A grey horned owl nested near his home on Kal Lake last summer. He had many amusing stories of the whole ordeal including the story of a robin attacking the owl at one point. He promised to give me a call if they come back this year. <div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/cosen3/862271292_sCbEQ-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/cosen3/862271292_sCbEQ-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/cosen1/862270718_FTfTW-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/cosen1/862270718_FTfTW-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/cosen2/862270921_K38zD-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/cosen2/862270921_K38zD-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /></div><div>Check out <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Vernon-Okanagan-Valley/Vernon-Okanagan-Valley/1092858_uExVz#862269212_FSy6U">other photos from Cosen Bay and Vernon</a></div><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-9775340936197853842010-05-09T18:03:00.000-07:002010-05-09T18:25:01.267-07:00Shuswap vs. Vernon U15It was a beautiful day in Salmon Arm today and the soccer field was in excellent condition after a bit of rain recently. In the end this did not help Vernon today as a few scoring opportunities were missed. Shuswap won the game 4-1. It was however a well fought match and the coach of Shuswap mentioned that both sides showed great examples of fair play. <div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/vsshuswap/861972604_fn7aJ-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/vsshuswap/861972604_fn7aJ-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br /><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="500" height="500" id="ssidx"><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2009120303.swf?AlbumID=12125565&AlbumKey=pxbXJ&transparent=true&bgColor=&borderThickness=&borderColor=&useInside=&endPoint=&mainHost=cdn.smugmug.com&VersionNos=2009120303&showLogo=false&width=500&height=500&clickToImage=true&captions=false&showThumbs=false&autoStart=true&showSpeed=true&pageStyle=white&showButtons=false&randomStart=false&randomize=true&splash=&splashDelay=0&crossFadeSpeed=350"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2009120303.swf?AlbumID=12125565&AlbumKey=pxbXJ&transparent=true&bgColor=&borderThickness=&borderColor=&useInside=&endPoint=&mainHost=cdn.smugmug.com&VersionNos=2009120303&showLogo=false&width=500&height=500&clickToImage=true&captions=false&showThumbs=false&autoStart=true&showSpeed=true&pageStyle=white&showButtons=false&randomStart=false&randomize=true&splash=&splashDelay=0&crossFadeSpeed=350" width="500" height="500" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allownetworking="all"></embed></object><br /><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-47175035626889750642010-05-07T19:27:00.000-07:002010-05-07T19:44:28.920-07:00Neil Young Concert in Kelowna<div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-small;">NB. I originally posted this back in April of 2009. Today I revisited the photos taken at this concert and decided to post a few different shots. So here I go reminiscing about a great concert in Kelowna last year. </span></div><div><br /></div>It was a huge treat to witness one of Canada's greatest rock legends last night. <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/gallery/7988349_EM8gR#519211398_SLvbW">Neil Young</a> is currently touring through Canada and lucky for us he made a stop in Kelowna. I was at the concert with a good group of friends which made it even more enjoyable. I would certainly characterize myself as a Neil Young fan but I still do not master his huge library of songs, now spanning about five decades. Going into to last nights show I was thinking that I would have a hard time stomaching some of his louder stuff by it was quite the contrary. This guy really knows how to rock and witnessing it live was amazing. Neil Young pulls out is arsenal of guitars, from old beat up Gibson Les Pauls to the gorgeous Gretsch and Old Martin acoustic he bought from Hank Williams. Nice stuff when you enjoy great guitars.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung/860136673_QMnkh-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung/860136673_QMnkh-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung3/860136818_iDERg-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung3/860136818_iDERg-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung2/860136728_cRRMr-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung2/860136728_cRRMr-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung4/860136859_ktNa3-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/neilyoung4/860136859_ktNa3-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/gallery/7988349_EM8gR#519220876_XHVwZ"><br /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">The set list had plenty of variety. Some well know classics such as Cinnamon Girl and Cowgirl in The Sand hit the spot with the audience. We had planned for an outdoor family shoot for the Bestard's this week but decided last minute to pull inside and do a studio shoot. We went portable so we set up backdrop and light in Neil and Jenna's kitchen/living room and then it was pretty much "lights and fast paced action" as everyone took turns in front of the camera. Lots of fun. Good to have you in Vernon for a while Gwen and nice to see you wonderful parents again. A soccer game in Penticton gave me the opportunity to take the route via Keremeos and Princeton. Some interesting scenery this way and of course I didn't take enough time or enough stops for photos. I did take a couple shots in Keremeos. After pushing through some lower mainland traffic I was the second last car to make the six o'clock ferry from Twassen - Swartz Bay ferry. The last shot of the day was taken shortly before arrival at Swartz Bay.</div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/keremeos1/848942538_SExYC-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/keremeos1/848942538_SExYC-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/keremeos2/848951149_zFwt7-M.jpg"></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/keremeos2/848951149_zFwt7-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/keremeos2/848951149_zFwt7-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/schwartzbay/848949346_rCZSn-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/schwartzbay/848949346_rCZSn-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-30127389123258715382010-04-26T10:45:00.000-07:002010-05-19T16:20:28.481-07:00Wedding Photography in the Okanagan<div><br /></div>To ensure that you have the best possible wedding day we always meet with you prior to the wedding to discuss your ideas and expectations for your wedding photos. We were impressed not only by Morten's mix of candid and posed photos, but also by his outgoing personality. On the day of the wedding, I felt completely at ease as Morten ensured we got all the pictures we requested and then some! When we received the final edits of our pictures, my husband and I were absolutely amazed. I am so thankful that Morten was there for our special day because his pictures truly captured the happiness that will live in our memories forever. <div><br /></div><div>Kim & Ben</div></blockquote><div><br /><blockquote><span style="font-style:italic;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Morten & Diana,</span></span><div><span style="font-style:italic;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Thank you so very much for all of your hard work on our wedding day. It was great to take away the worry about having the shots you really want. I did have my camera and snapped a few shots but within 5 hours of the wedding Morten had already emailed us a link to the photos on the website! This was fantastic as much of our family were not with us for the day so we could share our joy right away with our family and close friends. I have barely looked at my shots since as we just can't get away fom his album. It is at the top of my favourites list!!<br /><br /><div>Morten was really easy to have around and even though you knew he was there he didn't take over the scene like some photographers can.<br /><br /><div>Thanks for a wonderful job now we just have to decide which photos to select. Oh what the heck maybe we'll just take them all ;-)<br /><br /><div>Thanks again Morten. We are so happy you were able to come and capture our day the way you did. We shot Gillian and Justin's Wedding on an beautiful August day in Armstrong, BC. The wedding was very cozy and set around Gillian's family home near the outskirt of Armstrong. The featured photo seen below was captured in downtown Armstrong.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/gillianjustin/845458031_AhKvL-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/gillianjustin/845458031_AhKvL-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><blockquote>We were extremely pleased with the service provided by Morten and Diana. Three games were on the agenda this week. Two high school school games are done and a league game is coming up on the weekend. <div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/seatonsoccer/844723601_RPaDL-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/seatonsoccer/844723601_RPaDL-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">(Tech Talk Warning)</span></div><div>I have been experimenting with different setups over the years and find it quite rewarding now to be shooting with my dream setup, a Canon 1D Mark III, EF 300 2.8L IS + the 1.4x extender . For some of the games lately I have been using a two camera setup; the 1D with the 300 attached and a Canon 5D Mark II with the 70-200 2.8L. This allows me to shoot action almost all across the field with the 1D and when the action gets too close I turn to the 5D II. I am so enjoying shooting with the 1D due to three factors: First the autofocus tracking is a significant step up from anything I have used in the past. Second, shooting 10 frames per second ensures me that if there is some good action the likely hood of capturing is vastly increased. Third, I really like the look of the files if you nail the shot. I also try to shake things up from game to game. On Monday I shot the whole game with just the 1D and the 70-200. Other times I may throw on a different lens altogether in order to get a different look. </div><div><br /></div><div>Check my <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Sports/Soccer">soccer galleries</a> from some of the early spring games. </div><div><br /></div><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-29592197647892726642010-04-22T10:15:00.000-07:002010-04-22T13:44:04.971-07:00Earth Day<div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/vernon0410/844783023_NRvre-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/vernon0410/844783023_NRvre-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div><br /></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-29411372410044086582010-04-19T08:52:00.001-07:002010-05-07T17:53:09.385-07:00Wedding: Marie-Catherine and Tim<div><br /></div>The weather forecast for Saturday morning at Silver Star Mountain called for rain and thunder storms. This did not stop Marie-Catherine and Tim from going a ahead with the plans for getting married right on the ski slopes. We met in Silver Star Village and went by Skidoo to the set location at the top of two ski runs; "Cloud Nine" and "North Star". After waiting for just five minutes I met the bride and groom for the first time as they arrived on cross country skis. Both with huge smiles on their faces filled with anticipation of what was about to happen. The weather held up and the sun did actually peak out for a while during the ceremony. This was a small and private wedding with the wedding commissioner, Stew Pike, witnesses and friends Jim and Sue Huffman, the couple to be and myself capturing the event. Marie-Cathrine's parents live in Quebec and Tim's parents in Australia and a family wedding and redo of the wedding vows are planned for January. I do hope for the guests in January that they get to hear the original wedding vows as they are some of the most entertaining vows I have ever heard. I hope one of my photos below reflect this. Congrats Marie-Cat and Tim and thanks for letting me be a part of your big day.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim1/841599875_3sZXs-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim1/841599875_3sZXs-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim2/841599927_AoYjM-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim2/841599927_AoYjM-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim3/841599990_tqDNr-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim3/841599990_tqDNr-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim4/841600049_3xVA3-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim4/841600049_3xVA3-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim6/841600188_vaQse-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim6/841600188_vaQse-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim5/841600104_ZiFLY-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 331px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/marie-cattim5/841600104_ZiFLY-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br /><blockquote>Morten came up from Vernon to Silver Star for our most special of special days. It is at the top of my favourites list!!<br /><br /><div>Morten was really easy to have around and even though you knew he was there he didn't take over the scene like some photographers can. <br /><br /><div>Thanks for a wonderful job now we just have to decide which photos to select. Oh what the heck maybe we'll just take them all ;-)<br /><br /><div>Thanks again Morten. We are so happy you were able to come and capture our day the way you did. We'll be in touch soon for some prints etc. I'm sure both our Parents will be ordering too.</div><div><br /></div><div>Marie-Cathrine and Tim </div></div></div></blockquote><br /><br /><div>Link to see all the photos from <a href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Weddings/Mary-Cathrine/11870693_vzU9y#839626955_7BV5h">Marie-Catherine and Tim's Wedding</a>.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Please follow the link for <a href="http://mortenbyskov.blogspot.com/2010/01/wedding-photography-in-okanagan.html">Prices and Options for our Wedding Coverage</a>. </div><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-63382885372979688552010-04-13T09:54:00.000-07:002010-05-19T16:21:02.536-07:00Grad Photography 2010, Vernon BC<div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/grad1/540647274_tj3JZ-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 553px; height: 450px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/grad1/540647274_tj3JZ-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"></span></span></span><br />I love grads! It is always a great experience watching the young ladies and men spread their wings and fly into the world awaiting them after grade 12. They are full of energy, brave and yet you can usually trace a certain apprehension as they know this is an important day and they are not always sure about what is next. Parents have a tear in their eyes and the friends are cheering. It is certainly a day full of emotion.<div><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/grad2/540647419_nCS9Z-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/grad2/540647419_nCS9Z-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"></span></span></span>I have been lucky to cover several grads and would be thrilled to cover yours in 2010. The sun was setting over the Straight and the early evening flights were arriving at the Vancouver International Airport. I was surprised to see how many aviation fans had made this their Saturday outing. There were guys here with laptop and radar readings telling us exactly when and which planes to expect. A few guys had made the trip up from Seattle and had been there since 5 AM. It was a good atmosphere and one guy invited us to use the bed of his truck, which gave us just enough clearance so we could shoot the planes landing.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/planes1/834754176_bzCdp-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/planes1/834754176_bzCdp-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/planes2/834754240_bfuwa-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/planes2/834754240_bfuwa-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/planes3/834754300_yQQN2-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/planes3/834754300_yQQN2-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div><br /></div><br /><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4bc787191c408640"></script><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524364479320736494.post-30102106190730232502010-04-12T08:43:00.000-07:002010-05-19T20:00:10.491-07:00Snow Geese<div><br /></div>I was out shooting wildlife with Henrik in the lower mainland on Saturday. It was a gorgeous crisp spring day and the mountains on the horizon were stunningly beautiful with the recent snow we have had. We were chasing raptors all day without much luck due to a low tide and somewhat windy conditions but it was still a stellar day where the highlight was a flock of snow geese spooked by a low flying eagle.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese2/834744025_3tJps-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese2/834744025_3tJps-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese3/834723186_Zuq3g-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese3/834723186_Zuq3g-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese1/834721423_5i6Dg-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese1/834721423_5i6Dg-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese4/834744167_wqsp4-M.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 436px;" src="http://mfoto.smugmug.com/Friends/Blog/geese4/834744167_wqsp4-M.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><br /></span></span></span></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"> <a class="addthis_button_email"></a><a class="addthis_button_print"></a><span class="addthis_separator">|</span><a class="addthis_button_expanded">Share</a></div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style"><br /></div>Morten Byskov mfoto.cahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06162781997838932185noreply@blogger.com0
